About the Book
The Return of Jesus Christ.
An introduction to the events leading up to, and covering, the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Millennial reign on earth, and Eternity - as prophesied in the Holy Bible. The days in which we live are filled with deteriorating social, moral, political, economic and environmental issues and events. Successive governments promise to make our country, and the world, a better and safer place to live in. But in reality everything is steadily running down hill and out of control.
God has the answers to the world's problems - and yet even so called “Christian countries” are openly rejecting what He says in the Holy Bible.
This book seeks to get back to God’s word about what He has done through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ and what will soon happen on earth. It is an introduction to such things as:
- • What is happening in the churches
- • The resurrection and rapture of God’s people
- • Israel
- • The Antichrist
- • The Return of Jesus Christ to the world
- • Eternity
Richard Salmon speaks openly and frankly in his book, quoting many relevant scriptures.
Many Christians are waiting expectantly for the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ, for they can see the signs of His imminent return.
The world ignores them at its peril.
About the Author
Richard Salmon, the youngest of three brothers, was born in the village of Havenstreet on the Isle of Wight in 1951. He went to Sunday School at St. Peters Church of England, Havenstreet, and later served at the alter until the age of about thirteen. Even at a young age he believed that God existed and that Jesus was the Son of God who came to earth as man - that He died on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended back into heaven. The problem was, he never understood why!
He left school at the age of fourteen and started a boat building apprenticeship. But his thoughts were of distant lands and travelling the world.
After a brief spell in the Royal Marines and a short time back at boat building, at the age of seventeen, he went to sea in the Merchant Navy. This was the start of a downward spiral into the depths of sin and, ultimately, his deep conviction that all was not well with his soul. As Richard says in his book: “While I was a deck hand in my teens on a Merchant ship docked in St. John, Newfoundland, an elderly Christian man came aboard and gave me a New Testament. It was like handing me a time bomb! . . . the New Testament that he gave me was what the Spirit of God used to convict me that I was not right with God and that hell awaited the pleasure of my company.”
It was not until two years later, in New Zealand, that Richard finally surrendered himself to Christ and received forgiveness of sins and eternal life. He was twenty years old.
Now, in his late fifties and with well over thirty years of Christian experience behind him, Richard is happily married to his wife Jane. They live at Carisbrooke on the Isle of Wight, England, and have fellowship with other Christians at an assembly at Lake, near Sandown. He occasionally preaches and ministers the word of God.
