About the Book

This book captures and embraces the Spirituality and the Belief System of prayer warriors growing up in the Latino/Mestizo culture of the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado. Their fearless and triumphant journeys travel through mystical battles igniting the wick deep within the soul.

About the Author

Jeanette Montoya Gillmore is a Latina novelist and poet who has been writing since her early teens, and will be publishing her first novel. Her poetry book will follow in May of 2005.

She was born in Fairview, New Mexico on 8/13/55 to Guillermo Montoya and Elizabeth (Betty) Gonzales. She moved to Monte Vista, Colorado three years later. She was raised by her stepfather John Gonzales. She has three sisters, Patricia, Myra and Kathleen, and three brothers, William, Larry and Pete.

She is widowed, and upon the request of her late husband, Bob, she has committed to write this book. She and Bob had three sons together, Joel, Jesse and Johnny, and one grandson, Dylan.

She is a distinguished member of the "International Society of Poets", and has several of her poems published in anthologies. She has received a number of "Editor's Choice" awards throughout her poetry publications.

She is employed by the United States Postal Service as a clerk/stenographer and currently resides in Arvada, Colorado, with her two sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
