About the Author

From the fields of rural Arkansas to the urban classrooms of Memphis, Tennessee, this author has a positive effect on everyone that she encounters. Corene A. Patterson is a recently ordained minister who has a special calling for special works. Now, she shares her gift by creating a spiritual guide through poetry.

Corene Patterson received an associate degree in marketing from what is now Southwest Community College. She holds a Bachelors and Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Memphis and a Master's Plus in General Education from Cumberland University in Lebanon Tennessee. She is presently a Retired special education teacher in the Memphis City School district. Corene possesses a unique gift and talent for dealing with those who are meek. Her love for special children is her ministry and their needs keep her focused as she remembers Jesus' saying: If you do it for the least of my people, you have also done it for me"(Matthew 25:40).

She initiated her love and talent for writing poetry when she wrote the class poem for her high school's graduating class. She has written numerous plays for all occasions that have been produced in her local church and school. Corene has written and published a second book: My Spiritual Resume: Will It Get Me To Heaven? She also has a book in progress, Plays for All Occasions, which is forth coming. Corene now manages her own writing service: Patterson's Personalize Poetry: Uniquely Yours. She creates one-of-a-kind poems for individuals in her church, school, and community.

Corene has one son: Harrel, and two daughters: Wanda and Lisa.
