The author, Brenda K, has been working for the California Department of Corrections (CDC) for a little over 10 years. K started in the Parole Division in Oakland, California, as an Officer Assistant. Three years later, K went into the prison industry to work as a Correctional Officer. Brenda K would like to remain somewhat anonymous and can't reveal too much about what she is doing now, because she is still working for the CDC. But, if her book goes well, she plans on leaving CDC, and then telling the whole story!
