About the Author

Ms. Dixon is a long-time educator. She has taught all grades including college courses. Drawing on her experiences, she uses writing to help young people and teacher's build and bridge of understanding what test scorers really look for in rating student work. She has published in the journal of reading. She has published children's picture books, helped teachers and students do classroom publishing. She continues to be a mentor to new teachers. Ms. Dixon is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Reading. She is a Certified Reading Specialist.
