About the Book

Have you ever sat down on the beach coast to watch the sunset or at a park to listen to the birds sing? You refresh your mind, sort of a way to escape from reality for a second or two. You grab a book that seems interesting to read and begin your imaginary journey in to Mirrors of the Mind, a place only known to you. As you read, you might notice emotional scenarios in your book that might cause you to cry, laugh, wonder, and hope. You can’t seem to stop reading, page by page, word for word, you love it; you feel that nothing could distract you, except the last page. You are finished and feel like you just awoke from a deep sleep. A couple days later you tell your friends and family about this book; maybe read a little something to them, while you drink some coffee. You realized after some time that you actually have a good book in your hands. Every time you read it you find something new and something else to talk about.

Mirrors of the Mind is a collection of poems, short stories, and quotes. It is a book that is written for those individuals that are interested in reading something different. Each poem has a different emotion, which is brought to life. This is a book that is written by a man with a vision, a complete view of the heart, see his vision and take a look inside yours.

About the Author

Andres Cardenal was born December 06, 1983, in Miami, Florida. As a boy, Andres observed that people had God given gifts. He noticed in school many students that would excel in mathematics, acting, and sports; since then he always wondered what was his God given gift. Ten years later in the summer of 2003 he woke up in a cold sweat; he heard a voice, "Search, you'll find it". He was heavily startled but responded with action. He spent weeks in numerous libraries reading countless books, trying to find answers. The voice continued to haunt and inspire him to search further. In confusion, but determined to find the answer, Andres resorted to a priest for help. The priest said, Follow your heart and in time it will be revealed to you. He went home that evening and stumbled upon his old poetry journal. Poetry has always been something that he loved. He read through his journal and decided that evening to write again. As he wrote, he would drift to another world only known to him. When finished writing he felt awaken, mystified, and alive again. Andres found his calling.

Andres: I want my readers to feel awaken from a deep sleep. I can't say it is a spiritual reawakening but more of a self-awareness. I believe in the "Now" not in what will be or what has been. I believe that we learn from our mistakes and want to change for a better. I don't want people to forget who they are or where they come from. I want people to care about themselves as well as others. I am also a strong believer that our kingdom of peace lies within our coexistence. One thing that dawned on me is that we will not live forever. We are being timed from our birth to death. Everything is limited everywhere. Since we really don't know where we go after death or what will happen to our world; we can't be closed minded, we can't be in an eggshell all our lives. We should appreciate our surrounding because chances are we won't see it again, or at least not the same way. I always tell myself, Just be happy and don't rush.

Mirrors of the Mind is my first book but it is just the beginning. This book was made as an introduction for what is to come.
