About the Book

When a person is killed in a New York street or in a Los Angeles apartment, we all deplore the barbaric act of violence and try to understand the reasons behind it. But during the war in Iraq, and when the same act of barbaric violence is committed against civilians, we call the act "collateral damage". How the "civilized" world, and in the name of "freedom" and "liberty" is willing to allow/rationalize the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians Iraqis.

Can a killing be justifiable? 1944 Normandie explores the question. Instead of Iraq, the writer chose Los Angeles. Instead of tanks and planes, the writer used hands and belts. But the underlying reasons for the killing are the same: religion, empty and meaningless slogans about freedom.

1944 Normandie is a political and psychological satire. It follows the life of George, a handsome conservative Texan who moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. When his dream became unattainable, his turned his anger inward and blamed everyone for his failure. Murder was his way to feel superior, better, and in control. He believed that God was directly talking to him, asking his to kill non-Christians.

The first death was a simple accident, but it was the catalyst and the beginning of a blood-thirsty quest to rid the world of George's foes (the Muslims, the gays, the Hispanics and so on). As the killings became more necessary and hideous, so does the humor. All this balances out with a hilarious look at the stereotypes of different cultures and ethnic groups.
