About the Book
THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Before relinquishing his life on the Cross, Jeshua bar Josef - also called Jesus, the Christ - gave young John bar Zebedee, his most beloved disciple, a single charge: care for Jeshua's mother, Mary, as if she was his own mother. It is an assignment John has gladly fulfilled these last seventeen years. But it is by no means his only joy: he, Mary and the woman once known as Mary Magdalene now share with others the secret teachings Jeshua originally taught only to the closest of his companions. These teachings, simply called The Practice, have the power to awaken in every being Jeshua's Consciousness, whether they ever choose to think of themselves as "Christines"-or even religious-or not. They are the Door to Everything, the key to becoming one with the Infinite One.
John would not trade his part in sharing The Practice for any amount of fame or fortune...and yet, he is increasingly aware that there is something more he should be doing. Some task of tremendous importance awaits him, one that has the potential to change the world as much as Jehsua's presence itself did. That is, if John can only discover what it is.
Then, suddenly, an amazing experience gives him his answer: John must discover the true purpose behind Jeshua's command that he care for his mother, for there is a more to that charge than he ever could have guessed. More, he must take The Practice-the teaching which has brought so many so much joy and wholeness-away from the world and hide it from humanity.
John's search to find the one place where Jehsua's most important Teaching will be safe from those who would corrupt or even destroy it will take him to the ends of the earth...and beyond. It will find him gathering his own companions, just as Jeshua did, and pit him against Caesar himself.
This journey will test him, heart, mind and soul; it will bring him face to face with the one thing that would make him willingly give up his Teacher's charge, no matter what the consequences. If John succeeds in this task, the purity of The Practice will again be introduced into the world exactly when most it needs it, thus fulfilling Jeshua's true mission.
But if John bar Zebedee fails, humanity will pay the ultimate price.
