About the Book

Quietly, without any hesitation I hand my child to the grey haired stranger. Will he hand my child back after 12 hours dead, alive or what?

About the Author

Irene Coombe is a mother of three and the backbone of her family. The second child of four being born to a working class family of six in the West end shipbuilding district of Partick, Glasgow in the early 1960's, Irene grew up living a simple, clean and happy childhood.

As a mother and contented wife she had everything to live for and the envy of others; this she wasn't to discover until later. She has now come through many difficult and harrowing situations; but yet has overcome the devastating condition of depression, and is able to offer help to others.

Irene has been able to build from the devastating difficulties she had found herself coping with. Where does her inner strength come from? Depression was always a word used by others and at no time did Irene ever think her bubbly and self confident approach to life could ever be brought down so low as to experience depression herself.

Irene and her family live as they have for the last Twenty-five years in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.

This is Irene's first book and now she has the bug for writing and also the founding member of the Glasgow support group for The Pituitary Foundation.
