About the Book

This wide ranging synthesis offers a new understanding of how energy causes and enables change. It places Newton's laws in a new, and broader perspective - throwing light on many current dilemmas.

Working from an analysis of the energy transactions of systems, it develops a theory showing how the underlying energy transactions of systems shape all change.

For example, system dynamics insights are used to examine Darwin's theory of evolution, which is currently in a crisis. The recent discovery that genetic information can flow not only from DNA to RNA, but also in reverse, provides a vital clue which challenges a key aspect of Darwin's theory of evolution. This new genetic research matches the analysis from system dynamics, of how energy determines change in living systems.

About the Author

Born into a family of lawyers, Zoltán Apáthy received a multicultural education in one of the best colleges of Central Europe - emphasizing science and a broad general knowledge. He speaks four languages fluently. He spent four years in the Soviet Union, as a prisoner of war. In 1956 he took part in the Hungarian uprising against communism as a member of a local revolutionary council. Following a period in refugee camps, he settled with his family in New Zealand, where he is now retired.
