About the Book
Bobby Parker is lonely and wants a pet. He selects a Greyhound out of a dog book when he observes his long legs and sad eyes. Thus the search to find the perfect match begins.
The plot takes you through the adoption process as it exists in many parts of the United States. Colorful characters are introduced such as Jane the Pain, Grandma Lewis and her magical cleaners, Porta Potty Deedee and Gus with the disgusting eating habits. There are interesting and humorous scenarios including a Meet and Greet, a home visit, a great escape and the ultimate pet show.
Lots of facts about Greyhounds are woven into the storyline to make it educational as well as entertaining not only for children but adults as well.

Doris Ahrens is a retired public school reading teacher and a member of the South Carolina Writer's Workshop. She and her husband, Pete, are active members of a Greyhound rescue group.
