About the Book
Come join us on a journey of three little girls who end up getting a life lesson on beauty from a concerned mother. Due to the fact that one of the girls was being as cruel as any child would be, when they have a limited understanding on beauty and not much experience in life.
There are certain things that with understanding would be looked at in a more positive light.ÊA lot of these things unfortunately are found out the hard way. Although this is a story based on African American children it is relative to children of every nationality, background, and culture.
About the Author
This 27 year old Californian has been writing for as long as she can remember. Beside her son, writing is her first love. Daaimah Waqia has several projects in the works but "A Different kind of Beautiful" comes first because of it's significance. Naturally she solely credits the Almighty Creator for her talent and creativity. This project was a direct message, so she had no choice but to push this story to the forefront. She like many others had the tendency to let life's obstacles get in the way of her real work. Then there came that breaking point where she decided to pursue her dreams full time. She believes her success will be based on pure intentionsÊ and strong faith in God. Keep your eyes and ears open for this budding artist. She has aÊlot to show and tell.
Kevin Mitchell was born and raised in Richmond, CA. His education in sound recording began in 1990 along side his growing passion for music. It was the reunion with long time friend, Daaimah Waqia that gave him the opportunity to combine the two. In either case the objective is to capture your inner thoughts through your ears while you're drawn in by reading the story.
