About the Author

Minister Thornton is the wife of Deacon Van Lee Thornton, the mother of seven children, the grandmother of nine children, the sister of seven siblings. She is a home mom who is currently managing the family business home office, home school teacher for their two youngest children, and Teen Ministry Director.

Minister Carolyn Thornton received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord Savior February of 1973.

As a young Christian she was always diligent in the service of the Lord. She has served in what ever area of ministry God needed her services. Some of the areas are: Office Helper, Nursery Worker, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Praise & Worship Leader, Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Women's Ministry Leader, Youth Department Leader.

Minister Thornton heard, recognized, and answered the call of God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1989. She preached her first message December 22, 1991 at New Christian Liberty Church where Bishop Robert Lewis Bowie is Senior Pastor.

After being proven over a two, and a half year period, On June 28, 1992 She received her License to Preach The Gospel, to Perform Marriages, to Administer the Sacraments, and to Direct the other functions of ministry at new Christian Liberty Church.

There she served for six years in the following areas: as an Associate Minister, a Teacher, a Praise Team Leader, the Director over the Nurses Ministry and as a Sunday School Teacher. She received a Certificate of Completion for the Principles of Biblical Hermeneutics course offered at New Christian Liberty's school of ministry Liberty House Bible Institute in the summer of 1994 under the tutelage of Dr. Lorraine Hilliard.

October of 1995 she became a member of Evangel Ministries where she was active in preparing herself for the work of God. On December 3, 2000 Minister Carolyn Thornton received her License as a Minister of Evangel Ministries.

At Evangel Bible Institute she received Certificates of Completion in these areas:

Biblical Studies, Doctrine of Prophecy, Kingdom of The Cults Volume I, Understanding Ministry 301 Class, Spiritual Maturity 201 Class, Biblical Beliefs, Church History, Biblical Hermeneutics, Systematic Theology, John Maxwell's Leadership Training, Leadership Training Institute Classes at William Tyndale College, she received Certificates of Completion in the following areas: How To study The Bible, and Become a Biblical Counselor.

She is also currently perusing, and developing her gift and calling as a minister and writer.
