Following capture and eluding death again by escaping from the enemy, he describes his ordeal in graphic detail of 14 days behind enemy lines, bringing the reader along vicariously on the same horrific journey.

About the Author

Paul G. Petredis, born and raised in Los Angeles, enlisted in the army at age 17 and was assigned to the post-war occupation of Okinawa. He scribed his true-life account as a teenage soldier during the Korean War.

Following his honorable discharge from the army, he embarked on a career as a law enforcement officer in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, serving 15 years in the Patrol Division. Concurrently he attended school and subsequently earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Pepperdine University in 1972. He began work on a Doctorate Degree, and ceased his formal education in 1982 when he retired from law enforcement as a lieutenant.

Only after the passage of over one half century was he able to confront those horrific nightmares and subsequently record them.
