About the Book

Finn Blackstone isn't like the other Satylites. His stone is black and contains the Rainbow Rings that only a visionary has. He has been prematurely born, before an earthly soulmate is available for him: without one, he is not expected to survive. He doesn't have time to worry about his fate though as he is kept busy discovering the secrets of his homeland, Satylea. Earthlings regard Satylea as their moon but, as Satyl-Eratosthenes explains,

"An earthling landing on the surface of Satylea will see nothing of our beautiful land. He will stand in a dry crater surrounded by grey dust. He will see the Haemus mountains rearing dark grey against the starry heavens, but not the pink rock they are made of that makes them so beautiful. He may walk through our Sea of Tranquillity but never get wet. He will be unable to touch or taste the kalmoortle berries - only handfuls of grey dust will he sift through his fingers."

Finn is apprenticed to the mysteriously powerful Blue Rabbit. Then he has encounters with the other leading figures of Satylea - including Satyl Darwin, Satyl-Galileo and two faulty robots who keep him amused by their confused antics.

He finds himself involved in fascinating new experiences such as learning to shapechange and to speak to other species. He comes close to extinction on a visit to prehistoric Earth and takes part in the Ceremony of the Stone.

Soon he is communicating with earth in order to look for his own Lost Soul and makes contact with Dr. Dee's son, Arthur, who may be able to help him. But, as Soul Satyl points out:

"To find such a matching soul... It would have to be an earthborn wizard and such wizards are notorious for going missing in body, never mind the soul."

About the Author

I first noticed the Blue Rabbit when moon gazing from my home in rural Aberdeenshire where I live with husband, dogs and cats, my three girls having flown the nest. The Rabbit trod the boards in my local theatre in plays I wrote for children before returning to the stage of the stars, where I presented shows at the local Planetarium. Now he can be found within the pages of Lost Soul and the books that will follow...
