About the Book

In parallel universe number seven, a few stops up from the inescapable dimension of Blixis, sits the Realm of the Spellcasters. It is a land where witches and wizards (or Spellcasters, as they prefer to be called — as they have a special, magical gift for casting spells. They are not like us), live happily alongside the Ordinary Folk (they are quite happy being called Ordinary as they like eating food and idle chit-chat and are generally quite boring. They are like us).

One particular Spellcaster, Morag the witch, lives in the Whistling Wood near the town of Little Ripplebottom, a small and peaceful settlement typical of the Realm. Morag is well known, far and wide, for her spellcasting capabilities, in that they leave much to be desired and little to the imagination. So when Morag casts a dreadful spell at the annual Spell for Peace Festival, she is sentenced to exile for 1200 years. However, it is not long after Morag's shameful departure, that an ancient evil raises its ugly head in Little Ripplebottom, and soon the entire realm's peaceful way of life is threatened. The evil Javitorr, a race of hideous creatures long banished from the land, is beginning to stir. Only Morag and her new friend, Aggie, know of the unfolding nightmare, and only they can stop a disaster of truly inter-dimensional proportions… But how?

About the Author

Mark was born in Harrogate in 1979 and attended school in Knaresborough. His degree in Theatre Acting from the University of Leeds led him to his present work with a leading Theatre In Education company.

The characters of Aggie and Morag were born when Mark was a teenager, yet came to life in the form of two witches in 2000, when they starred in a charity production for a wellknown Yorkshire visitor attraction. The productions continued annually until 2004, raising much needed money for cancer charities. Whilst writing the scripts for these events, Mark began work on his first book Aggie & Morag In: The Beginning.

Thousands of people over those five years enjoyed Aggie and Morag's unique form of live entertainment, and contributed generously to the cause. Sadly, the charity productions have now ceased, but the sale of the Aggie and Morag books will continue to raise money for cancer charities, a cause which is very close to Mark and his family, and to a great many people throughout the world.

This is the first book in a series of four, with the adventure soon continuing in Aggie & Morag In: Low Witching on High Seas.
