About the Book

Will seventeen-year-old Mai Vo discover the identity of Mr. Tran? Under darkness of the warm Vietnamese nights, with Mr. Tran's long, black trench coat, felt fedora and deep voice, Mai is intrigued with the unknown.

As her life is about to take a decisive turn, Mai is falling in love with Mr. Tran. She believes receiving a rose from him every night must signify his love for her.

It is time for Mai and mother's escape to America. Leaving her homeland, her brother and Mr. Tran, is devastating for Mai. Will she ever see her brother his wife again? Will Mai and Mr. Tran meet again?

About the Author

Linda (Rishell) Thompson was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, USA. When in her teens her family moved to Southern California. Having lived in Apple Valley, California for the past four years, Linda has now taken her writing career seriously. Working for a Vietnamese Pediatrician in Fountain Valley, Callifornia, for over sixteen years, has inspired her to create this multicultural/suspense novel. Linda is a member of California Writers Club, High Desert Branch and also Lucerne Valley Writers' Ink. Look for her second multicultural/suspense, When the Fog Rises, which will be out within the next year.
