About the Author

Cynthia Wiesner Bowen was born in West Bend, Wisconsin, one of eight children to Jacob and Patricia Wiesner. Never really having much contact with nursing homes until entering nursing school in Wyoming in 1978. Beginning a nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and received a Bachelors degree of Science in Nursing in 1988. Traveled and worked as a nurse in several western states, many times in nursing homes. She is married to Donnie Bowen, has three children - Katherine, Jonathan and Rebecca, three step-children - Donnie Ray, Susan and Donald Lee and six grandchildren - John, Amelia, Steven Clay, Kielee, Isaiah and Kambria.
