About the Book
As soon as Fritz sees Trish, he's swept off his feet, knowing somehow she's the one he's waited for. She's flattered by the intensity of his love but wonders if he'll fit into the life she seeks. Trish's life is all about goals, drive and ambition. She has everything figured out while Fritz has a habit of following the path of least resistance. He sees no point in planning, convinced that his life has been one fortuitous accident after another. In a series of events he doesn't understand, he finds himself a highly decorated war hero who is on his way to being an unwilling cadet at West Point. Trish decides that with her help and his luck, Fritz can accomplish anything and she sets out to make it so. Even though he has no faith in himself, he tries hard to succeed because it means so much to her. While they're deeply in love, they are complete opposites who neither know nor understand each other. With everything against them, can they build a future together?
About the Author
LH Knickerbocker was born during the last measured earthquake in New York, an event still said to be momentous by all who participated. Currently, he's retired both from the United States military and a Fortune 500 corporation in which he held senior positions.
He received his Bachelor's degree in Military Science and a Doctorate in Applied Economics from the University of Maryland, and also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
He started writing early in life and was published in the 1954 edition of New Authors. In 1957, he wrote a musical comedy that was produced far (very far) off Broadway and as an enthusiastic gourmet, served as a food critic for a regional magazine from 1978 to 1980. In addition, he has co-authored two books on pesticide uses.
This is his first novel. He is currently working on two additional books, one set in Argentina during the overthrow of Peron and the other about a womanizing cowardly cad.
