About the Book
Lyda is an avid golfer who buys six balls distinctively marked with yellow smiley faces. She gives away some and others are lost. The gist is the balls deliver good fortune for the recipients, not necessarily related to the game of golf. They are re-cycled, sometimes unintentionally, as the tales number eleven. Lyda slowly discovers the magic in her logo balls and sets out to write the book about her mini-miracles. Years later as she addresses the invitations for her 90th birthday party (in lieu of a stuffy funeral in the probable near future), Lyda reminiscences over her family and the secrets she had devotedly held over the years for each of her children. She saves her last remaining ball for someone special after she is gone. Smiley Tales is a quick, entertaining read with a feisty heroine who absolutely delights in life.
About the Author
As does her heroine in Smiley Tales, S Reber loves golf. In recent years she and her new husband have played nearly 200 different courses on three continents. Enjoying retirement, the Rebers divide their time spending summers in Owasco, New York, locale for her book, and traveling the winter months to warmer weather. In between they find themselves near family at home in North Canton, Ohio, where often the three generations golf together. Susan is outlining another book while waiting to tee off the next time.
