A practice quiz is also included to test your cryptic comprehension before you even start the first crossword!

Then to make your entry into the cryptic crossword world as painless as possible, help is given with the first 10 crosswords, while the next 30 crosswords are standard cryptic crosswords of moderate difficulty generally following the principles outlined in the book's introduction.

The last 10 crosswords are designed for expert cryptomaniacs - they are most challenging because of the unique way that the clues are presented.

Normally one has to struggle for some time to learn the peculiarities of the cryptic crossword by experience, but with the explanations and help given here the newcomer should get off to a flying start!
