About the Book
Elder's book of poems and photographs connects the reader to the natural world. Traveling along a road under familiar skies through forests, rivers, and bays, Elder's poems illuminate everyday places. They point to inner worlds and show the awe-inspiring power of ordinary natural events such as snow flurries, hawks in flight, fogs, blueberry fields, and spring rain.
As a traveler along the roads, fields, and beaches of downeast Maine, Rob Elder writes beautifully of the ordinary events and places which glow with their own powerful presence. Each season, unique in its New England sun-angle, winds, or temperatures; are held close in these poems for the reader to appreciate.
Elder's book is about the very essence of being. These poems embrace enjoyment of the pleasure of the present moment, not for what it could be, but for what it is. The joy found in these remarkable poems will inspire each reader to love their own perfect landscapes.
