About the Author
It's been a rough life, full of problems of my own making. I've spent many long years in anxiety and depression, worrying about one thing or a dozen others!
All of that emotional pain strengthened my determination not to be depressed. I learned to encourage myself.
I didn't do it by myself. I found the right help from God and from good people that guided me out of my irrational guilt and my poor methods of coping.
In encouraging others, I find that I, also, receive encouragement and become stronger.
I'm just a girl of 67 that doesn't go as fast as I once did. I've given up doing many of the creative things I had in mind for retirement. I can't plant a jungle in my yard. My voice often crackles, so I'm whistling now. I guess I'm not going to be a star after all. Fibromyalgia forced me to live a low-key lifestyle, but I think it was necessary to rid me of distractions so I would focus on one project and finish it.
I both enjoy and need to write. It is wonderful therapy. It gives me a sense of who I am. When I'm confused or getting down, it helps me clarify the conflict within me and resolve it.
I had a life-changing experience with God when I was 32. (My children were half grown then.) Within the next year, during prayer, a poem came to me. All through that day, more verses came. I never had written a poem before then, so I believe it is something God wants me to use to encourage myself and others.
This is my first published book. I hope you can relate to my thoughts and be encouraged to live a meaningful life with a positive attitude. If you are encouraged by these verses, you will encourage me too.
Thank you and God bless you.
