About the Book

How important is a name?

Can a junior reporter win over the meanest Sherriff in Washington State?

Why is a Russian Submarine hunting the elusive Orange Roughy off the East Coast of New Zealand?

Was an old man, obviously down on his luck, and hungrily eating dinner at a Salvation Army dining hall formerly a famous sports columnist for a New York newspaper?

You'll find the answers inside this little book.

You will also meet Joey Bolla. The Hit-Man's hit man and Jimmy Charles, a First Nations singer and songwriter, who is sitting on top of the world. Well, almost.

About the Author

James Macdonald was born and educated in New Zealand, immigrating to Canada in time to celebrate his 21st birthday.

His passion for writing has been with him for as long as he can remember. When asked where he learned to write, James explained:

"Working in radio I wrote everyday. Every single day. And I was a stringer for various newspapers and wire services from time to time writing diversified stuff. I've always had the stories… it was just a matter of putting them together. That's what I'm doing now."

James writes in retirement in Ladner, British Columbia, where he lives with his partner Bea.
