About the Book

This is the true story of a girl growing up in a warm and sheltered environment who suddenly loses something very dear to her only to regain much more in unexpected blessings. The narrative takes the reader through centuries of historical and geographical treatments of the United States of America, Spain, Cuba, and other parts of the world. With our heroine you will experience the fun and camaraderie of a Northeastern prep school; visit and dine with an upper class Spanish family; explore the plains of Africa and join in the thrills of being surrounded by lions, elephants, and other wild animals; sail down the magical Yangtze River and see how the people of China live and toil the land.

The vivid descriptions of social situations and conditions, as well as the accounts of family ancestries and histories will capture the reader's interest, and you will find yourself sharing emotions that you have never experienced before.
