In the 60's, Leah Caldwell, wife of a United States military career man and mother of three children, finds that growing up in the deep South, raised by dysfunctional parents, leaves her ill equipped to cope with foreign intrigue of French life. The house in which they live was built from the ruins of an ancient chateau that served as German headquarters during WWII. The house has life, a spirit which Leah recongnizes with interest. However, when strange and unsettling occurrances begin,her fascination with the house turns to fear and loathing. Together with her friend, Michele, Leah seeks answers to the sounds, footsteps and apparitions that become progressivley bolder

As the story unravels, Nazi love/hate passions lead to murder and bring full circle the meaning of unrest in the house, disclosing its secrets..


About the Author

The author was born and raised in Alabama. After high school she married a military career man and spent the next 20 years living in various places in America, Europe and Asia. She received a B.S. Degree from the University of Texas and a M.S. Degree from North Texas State University. She taught in public schools in Texas and in Tennessee. While residing in California, she accepted a teaching position with National University. In retirement, she devotes her time to writing novels, short stories and children's stories.
