About the Book

Your Choice is a thought-provoking book written for the teenager. It has a personal and a friendly style. It is purposely concise which means that teenagers could read it within an hour.

Having a dream, an intention, a desire to succeed is part of all our lives. We often make hundreds of decisions on a daily basis. If we could just have the ability to sharpen our decision making, to be able to see the wider picture and have the skills to bring our thoughts together and be more solution driven, we would all be more successful.

The content is designed to motivate even the most lethargic teenager into action. It includes a personal story, emotive poetry, invites the teenager to look at personality types, thought processes and the importance of thought, positive thinking, affirmations, and goal setting.

Life skills such as studying skills, banking, job interviews and work: food, exercise, sex, drugs and alcohol: self-esteem and health issues; feelings, relationships and communication skills are all interwoven throughout the book, with the emphasis always on that it is the teenager's choice.

I believe teenagers are the hope of our future. Teenage years are the most precious and emotional time; a time when they can learn and make changes, form ideas and thoughts that will carry them for the rest of their lives.

It provides a wealth of helpful information and could be used as an educational tool. It encourages the teenager to make decisions and take action. Above all, it stresses, "It is your life and your choice!"

About the Author

The author writes under a nom de plume. She was born in the Caribbean but has made New Zealand her home for over 40 years. She has two sons. She sometimes wondered if they were “ever going to make it’ through their teenage years. It was this experience of watching and guiding her sons through these years that inspired her to write this book, called Your Choice.
