About the Book

Chapel Services have always been an integral part of the camping experience for Boy Scout Camps, but at some camps the Chapel Services seem to ebb and flow, dependent upon if, and who, the camp was able to recruit to be the Chaplain.

This book is the story of how a new program at Camp Tom Hale in Oklahoma was able to change a daily attendance at chapel from a handful of scouts to an attendance that sometimes has as many as 400 scouts and leaders. You will learn here how the program was turned around and you can read about some of the short devotions and how they are presented. The messages and the presentations bring the scouts and leaders back bright and early each and every day of the week long camping experience. You will find these devotions not only exciting reading, but also helpful in using or creating your own devotions for Sunday School classes, childrenÕs sermons, and other religious group gatherings.

About the Author

David Cox became involved with Scouting with his son Andy in 1994. In 1998, he was approached by a friend and Baptist Minister to become involved in rebuilding and reviving the Chapel Services at the Hale Scout Reservation in Oklahoma. He has been active as a Chaplain ever since. He has a real interest in the youth of today and has attended the Billy Graham school of Evangelism in California, the Youth Evangelism Explosion International Training School in Florida, and several Youth Discipleship Seminars. He has also been involved with the junior and senior high youth at his church, Kirk Presbyterian, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and involved with Passion One Day Praise and Worship Gatherings for College Students which attract anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 college students at one place, at one time.
