About the Book

Ghetto In the Sky is a compilation of poetry and photography that portrays a struggle for social justice in the midst of chaos and corruption in modern times. The underlining theme is that one can find positiveness in life despite the demise and destruction that an urban environment can evoke. Ghetto is not just a physical space or a place. It's a state of mind in a frame of time. This book is a collection of thoughts, memories, and experiences of a young woman trying to push forward for social and economic change in the face of conflict and opposition. About the Author

Amity Johannesberg, now Amity Azul, has a B.A. degree in International Relations and Spanish. She speaks French and Spanish, and has lived and travelled many places, such as France, Costa Rica, and Maui. She currently works as a massage therapist and professional dancer.
