About the Book
Enduring Love is a captivating tale which focuses on the life and struggles of a British World War II widow. Elsie tragically loses her husband Bill during the blitz in 1940. After rescuing an elderly woman he returns to get her daughter who she misakenly believes is also trapped inside the bombed house. It collapses, killing him. Enveloped in grief and ever present depression, Elsie is barely able to function for the following three years. Her son is serving in Italy and provides her only shred of purpose to continue living. A close friend of Bill's, Jim, becomes enamoured of Elsie, a fact to which she is oblivious as her heart still only belongs to Bill.
From this dynamic foundation, the author constructs a heart tugging, fast moving work of love, suffering and murder, set against the tense final year of World War II. The entertaining style of writing combined with keen attention to detail further enhances the appeal of the love story.
