About the Book

To awake one morning in a safe and secure life that many people would envy and then find yourself thrust into a world of unknowns. That's what happened to Marianne. To realize that the safety and surety that you enjoyed was really ordinary and boring was a revelation. The courage to take the first step was one thing, the determination to follow through was another. The unusual ability to place your desire above everything else was something Marianne knew very little about. Everyone needed her and she complied with their wishes. What she wanted or needed didn't seem to matter, simply because she didn't know that there could be something... or someone else... for her.

Over hundreds of miles and for many weeks of a lost summer Marianne lived a fantasy life. She gave up everything she knew and everything she valued on an impulse. From Harpers Ferry to Washington, DC and many points in between, the trio of travelers had many adventures.

Jabez many have been the catalyst for this crazy adventure but Captain Rooker was the prize. You will feel confused by Marianne's actions (perhaps even envious). You will love the simple innocence of Jabez. You will lust after the rugged handsome Captain Rooker. You will look in on the people left behind with curiosity. You will come to the conclusion there could have been.

About the Author

Ms. Gay was born and raised in Milton, Pennsylvania, where she lived for thirty-seven years before moving to Northern Virginia. She now works for Inova Fairfax Hospital as Administrative Coordinator at the Inova Surgery Center. She lives in Gainesville, Virginia through the week and spends her free time at her vacation home in Luray, Virginia in the lovely Shenandoah Valley with her husband Rodney. She has two grown children, four grown stepchildren and fourteen grandchildren.

With For Jabez now published, she is hard at work on the sequel, due out in the spring.
