About the Author
Georgia Glashauser is a baby boomer with a passion for cycling. An active member of the Baltimore Bicycle Club, her first weeklong bicycle tour was in 1993. She has fulfilled her dream to bicycle coast-to-coast across the United States not once, but three times. In 2002, she bicycled coast to coast on the southern route. The following year, she cycled across the country on the northern tier. Two years later, she pedaled the central coast-to-coast route.
She treasures the United States and believes its resources, vastness, and history bring a unique, personal satisfaction to this remarkable experience. She believes recreational cyclists who participate in weeklong, organized bike tours have the mental endurance, persistence, and physical stamina to complete a coast-to-coast journey. Her philosophy is simple: Enjoy the ride, smell the roses, cycle through the neighborhoods, and never be the first one to arrive at the day's destination!
