About the Book

Men's so-called 'natural needs' have been regulated by increasingly stronger social rules because of an obvious need to control social-sexual order (P77). Men feel an idealized pressure to pretend their sexual naturalness is a compliment to the social model idealized for women. Most men (P111) eventually feel limited and compromised in these assigned roles. The 'sexual behavior scales' within this text describe every conceivable sexual behavior and why a behavior might be unimportant to some and yet dominate others.

Psychotherapist Vince Huntington clearly describes the social and personal impact of the five basic sexual needs and behaviors (P10). His behavior scales (P138) trace the progression of sexual naturalness from innocence awakened, through socially judged 'normal' behaviors that eventually become, for 72% of men, flat, unrewarding and confusing.

The scales describe the secreted sexual sub-culture behaviors (P75) which often progress into compulsive and unwanted desires some wish to call 'addictions' (P99). He defines how behaviors, if uncontrolled, progress into anti-social behaviors and further, into the sex crimes we all fear (P81). The author's data point out how society does seemingly little to truly 'help' male sexual understanding beyond judging it 'right' or 'wrong', using name calling, social rejection, and, in extreme cases, forced 'treatment' or prison (P43) for social 'control'.

As a result of idealized social expectations, ordinary men, married, working, respected members of society, resort to fine-tuning skills to manipulate society by pretending the described social-sexual model does work for them while they secretly get many sexual needs met through affairs, real and imagined, pornography sexploitation and (eventually) these impulsive/compulsive behaviors are taken in and out of sexual sub-cultures where, it appears, males are exploited on a par with females.

Friends, spouses, employers or the law eventually discover secreted sexual lives. Porn stashes are uncovered, computer files opened, telltale credit card charges arrive. Anyone who trusted him, especially spouses feel betrayed, insulted and maliciously tricked by these struggling men who feel alone, 'wrong' misunderstood and without a friendly face to turn to within society. Ignoring these facts causes exactly the opposite of the good social-sexual order society hopes for. A sense of 'helplessness' becomes overridden by intelligence and behaviors are more cleverly hidden. As these overall trickery patterns work, they are passed into the gene pool with each successive inventive generation while "we", society, wonders why the false autonomy of male sexual needs dominate our surroundings.

The pedophile, the priest, and seducer of the innocent must read this book. Also, every man and woman, every parent, every police officer, psychotherapist, the clergy, the teachers, MUST read this book.
