About the Author

As the youngest of five from the union between Steve and Carrie Spann both from South Carolina, growing up in southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the sixties, seventies and eighties, the author has had years of relationship data to observe and experience. As a result, a multitude of revelation into the implications, ramifications and impact these observations and experiences have on the human heart have inspired him to capture his thoughts (narrative-style) in this book of poetic expressions. Growing up in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and having the opportunity to visit different parts of the world (i.e. Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Canada and numerous cities throughout these United States) has enabled the author to gain exposure to and appreciation for diversity. The author has observed this diversity in culture, race, religion, lifestyle, age, socio-economic status, environmental and other factors, all with the common thread of desire for love and relationship. It is from these experiences and observations that the author has been able to create this piece of documentary-style poetic literature. In addition, the author has experienced marriage, fatherhood and spiritual formation through his Christian experience. The author hopes that the readers will experience evolutionary breakthroughs as they discover real meaningful and lasting relationships built on true love and submission. Either way, it has been a rewarding and transforming experience. I hope that this book will inspire many to seek, cultivate and preserve those meaningful relationships they discover in their own lives.
