About the Author
Peggy was born in Kamloops in the summer of 1935 as Margaret Ann Fennell, first child to Marston and Ellen Fennell of Chu Chua. Being raised in the country setting of the North Thompson Valley, she developed an appreciation for nature and what it can provide. During her upbringing, interaction with the native community was a part of the everyday routine. This led to her appreciation of aboriginal customs and culture. It likely instilled in her respect for the people who understood natural medicines.
Later in life, when she was stricken by cancer, when conventional medicine seemed ineffectual, she returned to those values and literally made herself a "guinea pig" in the quest for a natural cure. As a skilled research librarian, she delved into every source to uncover any morsel of information on the dreaded affliction. While the results may not be astounding revelations, they will certainly create interest within the medical community and perhaps offer hope to many people.
Peggy lived many months beyond the prognosis of any medical doctor. Whether this was due to the therapeutic regimen she undertook or her indomitable courage, only further research will tell.
