About the Book

Footprints on my Soul is a collection of earlier writings and new beginnings. It challenges the audience to see life as the author does. If we assume that life is grand, the extension of a hand or a hug is needed more because life does not come in a pretty little package. The words call for people to see that behind the smile is pain and then growth, and sometimes more pain. "Footprints on my Soul" are words that people want to say or express but cannot or won't.

This book invites people to stop thinking, believing, and acting mainstream; however, acknowledge that without the blueprints of life handed to you at birth, your best bet is to live life well and remember these words could mirror you and it will be then that you want Him to carry you and the words to embrace you with extended hands and hugs. Walk gently on everyone's soul.

About the Author

Mind, body and spirit - this soul child, Monique Mitchell, affectionately known as "Moe" was spunky from the beginning. Laughter and a beautiful smile always has been her clever way of being janice faced. Roots stemming from North Philadelphia and later an inhabitant of Camden, NJ, life began in a crumpled brown paper bag. Losing a father through tragedy and being emancipated from her mother at a tender age, trails and tribulations were nothing but simply a part of God's plan. Monique accepted and welcomed the challenges with a smile and heavy heart. Instead of admitting defeat she became a fast-talking, money shuffler with many schemes that today we can sit back, laugh and put in our "remember when" books.

"Life is like a quilt of experiences. With every wakening of a new day there is a fresh patch weaved into existence." Many say one can't be street and sweet, but God being her savior and her grandmother as her beacon of light, Monique did not allow her situation to spoil her benevolent demeanor. She has learned how to love and be loved from her lessons of endless friendships and people she calls her guardian angels.

Monique crawled through the darkness through education. She graduated from Camden High School in the top ten percent of her class and later from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with honors. Currently she is in pursuit of a proffesional degree.

Naturally, Monique is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incoporated where she inspires through her public works and service. Coming from humble beginnings herself, Monique has commmited her like to social service, believing "where are youth and children suffer, I am called and commit to serve."

Being culturally and spiritually aware, Monique is utterly honest and surly truthful to all that come into her presence. She is known for cleaning her closet of negativiity and ignorance - keeping only those who are positive and ready to do God's work close at heart.

As a friend, Monique gives the kick-in-the-butt when needed, fashion to blow VOGUE'S mind and advice so certain you would think she carried a crystal ball. She will never step down to a challenge or debate, but promises to hug when her point is made. Moniques is spunky but sweet - a two-step queen who can't move her feet. She is on a constant journey of self-definition and purpose, and she has made a choice to be successful and jubilant for life and for love. Living Life, not letting it live her, Monique is blessed through God's amazing will and will never be confined to boundaries.
