About the Book

It's about time you became selfish. Haven't you given everyone everything by now? Where are you now? How do you look? How do you feel? Do you even like yourself right now? Don't answer these questions yet; let them bubble around in your mind first. You will have plenty of time to answer later. First and foremost, don't do this for your husband, your kids, your job, your family or friends. What? How selfish is that? IT'S NOT! Begin this journey for you and you alone. If you don't do this for you, you will not succeed. If you do, your life will change forever. We do not truly emerge if we are changing for someone else. I am telling you first hand, it won't work. What I do want to tell you is that once you unleash the power of self-love and appreciation, the power of you will rise. This is an emotional journey and you are not alone. I use the word emotional because within this journal you will begin to peel the layers and layers that have turned you into a fat & unhealthy person. Food is tied to all kinds of emotions. Emotions are what make up your soul. If your soul is lost, your body will be too. Day by day, question-by-question and tear-by-tear you will begin to uncover all that is buried. You will uncover the pain, the joy, and the fat.

I originally started to write this as a weight loss journal, but it became so much more. This journal became my outlet, a way for me to get inside of myself and sort through me. You will read about true-life emotions and although as you read this and you go through your own pain, you will feel your own emotions. The point is that you must own your emotions, no matter how much it hurts at times and believe me it can hurt so bad that you will think that it can never get better. I am here to tell you that it can and it will get better. I hope by sharing this journal with you, it helps to create healthy boundaries for yourself. I want you to understand that you can believe in yourself even before you see results. I am talking about emotional, spiritual, and physical results. You must commit yourself to look at everything about your life. Sometimes you will like what you see, other days you will cringe. The only advice I can offer you is to be honest with yourself even if you are ashamed or embarrassed. Give yourself a pat on the back and treat yourself like a queen. It's not being selfish. You are you and no one else. Find the beauty in that fact and know that you are meant to be here and that your life has a purpose. You don't have to be a star to find your place in life. I have found that being a mom means more to me than awards, fame or fortune.

I dedicated this journal to myself because it is for me that I began this project. I will share with you my inner most thoughts, embarrassing moments, good days, bad days, really bad days, struggles & successes. I share with you my favorite quotes, some written by me, some by other great women. I will open my life, my heart, my soul, and my true raw self to you so that you too may also begin your journey of healing. I have begun to fully expose my spiritual wounds and have begun the healing process. It is not easy. It means digging right to the wounds of the past, remembering and reliving some of the moments we have buried together, we will become stronger, wiser, sexier, healthier and happier.
