About the Book

Beau was a happy 13 year-old living in Columbia, South Carolina, an area rich in history. Beau and his parents love to play and fish in Lake Murray near Lexington, a lake named for the visionary responsible for its creation in 1930, William S. Murray. The lake was built for the purpose of hydroelectric generation for the growing capital city of Columbia. The Conte’s family history in South Carolina goes back to 1760. Beau’s family history is not just a memory of the past; it is not a dead thing, but is a living part of Beau’s present and future. On one fateful, sunny, fun-filled afternoon on Lake Murray, Beau and his father almost drown. However, that particular area of the lake, 50 feet below the surface, lay his family’s past homestead, over 145 years old. Beau’s relatives of the past reach out with a supernatural hand to save Beau, and his future. In turn, Beau is able to save the lives of others. Sparing Beau’s life not only saves the future of the family’s name, but the story of the family’s past. Beau and his family will soon understand his future influence on multitudes of people around the world. Beau has been given a great gift. At a young age, he has been shown what his life’s purpose is. Though he is not given the details, he knows that he is to help a great number of people escape a millennia of hate. The people he helps in his youth are to provide Beau with the help he and the world need in the future. This is the first book in a series which follow the adventures of Beau’s life into adulthood. Beau’s Odyssey Continues is the second book in the series which follows Beau through college and marriage.
