When you were a kid were you taught all about Santa Claus, this lovely rotund old chap with a white beard, and did you one day find out he didn't really exist and it was just your Mum and Dad?

And were you then taught about another old chap called God and told that he really REALLY existed and that you must believe in him for the whole of the rest of your life? (Or else be a bad person)

And were you told He wrote a great big book called The Bible which is all His Own Words? And sent His Only Son to save us all from our sins? And did you ever wonder if none of that was true either?

About the Author

I grew up in a nice normal British middle class family who did their best to be normal and nice and do all the 'right things'. This meant that there was a lot of pressure on me to grow up into the 'right sort of' boy / man and I was sent away early to boarding school so that would happen.

There I was taught that humans had been thrown out of the 'Garden Of Eden' for disobedience by an angry chap called God. I was given the full religious indoctrination that a human being was not good enough for God, was born in sin, must be a good Christian and believe the Bible is the world of God.

Puberty came and the body grew extra parts with urges and agendas of their own and I became a 'sinner' just by being my natural self.

I went into engineering because machines have no religion and I felt I could trust them. Then mid-life crisis led me to re-evaluate life, the Universe and just about everything. It took time, learning and effort to wake up from the religious brainwashing, but wake up I did. This little book is a result of that and is dedicated to waking up for all.
