About the Book
The economics textbook for African Nations:
Principles, Problems and Policies is designed for undergraduate students in economics and in other related social sciences, who wish to understand and analyze the economic problems and issues of Africa.
It is not only created in Africa but also written and reviewed by Africans and scholars of African descent. It represents the unique experiences of African students, and its illustrations depicted African scenes.
The book is also produced to provide policymakers with readable and understandable approach to the various facets of African economies.
Economist James Tobin, Nobel Laureate 1981, pointed out that there is a two-regime model of the economy. Sometimes the economy is in a classical situation where markets are clearing, and at other times the economy is in a Keynesian situation in which the constraint on actual output is demand-aggregated spending.
What really matters to me is the long-run effect of this book on the economics course in Africa because the textbook is written for the next generation of African leaders. Times change and policies should change with them.
