About the Book
Sidney (Sid, Dad, Grandad, Pa Pere, Opa Sid, "Sir") wrote this book for his children and grandchildren (of whom he was very proud) to show them that conflicts of war are not a reflection of political will but affects each individual involved. The tragedy of war is not about global issues but rather what is directly affecting the lone soldier in times of conflict.

About the Author
Sidney was born in Winnipeg, MB. Canada and moved to London, England when he was very young. He joined the British army at 16 years old and served throughout France, Germany, Holland, Italy, North Africa, Egypt, Greece, Palestine and Afghanistan in the general army and military intelligence. Captured twice by the German army, injured several times by gunshot, shrapnel, knife and physical abuse. The experiences he endured through these several years of war left him with the ability to be non-judgmental, forgiving and a loving person. He maintained that the best healing remedy for physical and emotional adversity is laughter and the love of life.
