About the Book
Dave Eggleton was born towards the end of the second world war in 1944.His Father was a Salvation Army Officer, but had to resign in order to marry his wife.[Daves Mother] After leaving school at 16 Dave started work as a farm labourer in Nottinghamshire. After two separate years at Agricultural Colleges, he became a Farm Manager in a Probation Service Hostel in South Wales. At 28 he went into Leicester University and after 2 years achieved the C.Q.S.W. Qualification. In the second year 1972 just five months after meeting Sheila [a Student Teacher], they Married and have stayed together for 32 years.
Dave became a Probation Officer in 1973 in Warwickshire. In the 1980s he returned to Leicester University for 4 years part time /and achieved an Mphil Qualification in Social Science.
After 30 years of working in the Probation Service, and a few years in Social Services [mid 1970s] and National Prison Service College [2000-2003], he took early retirement [59] due to Joint problems. After two operations in 2003 he fully recovered and has now returned to part time self employment with CAFCASS [ Children and family court advisory and support sevice]. Children and Family Reporter.
His book is a combination of early history and life style. Theraputic Hobbies, stories related to work issues, dealing with offenders, and other stories about life events from time to time. Dave feels so lucky for his life as given, which includes excellant Parents and sister, A wonderful wife, Two great Sons [and there wives and children] Fully suportive inlaw parents and the advantage of fully committed Familys from both side throughout his life.Excerpts
