About the Book

This classical-form Romaunt tells of the discovery in the year 2008 of a near-earth asteroid, which appears to threaten earth impact in March 2018, it argues the political and technical challenges involved in providing a mission to intercept a moderately large heliocentric object and to divert it from a potentially catastrophic impact with the earth. In addition, efforts are planned to capture the valuable object in a useful near-earth orbit for the future benefit of humankind. Interwoven within the classical narrative is an uplifting story of the astronauts and their loves.
