About the Book
The purpose of this book is to help people consider the power and the role of faith and prayer in the battle against obesity and gluttony. The Bible tells us this battle is not ours, but the Lord's.
For those who have fought unsuccessfully against the personal stronghold of obesity (drug addition, alcoholism, smoking, pornography, abuse, etc.), I submit that you must rethink your approach-a paradigm shift is in order. Your "enemy" must be attacked from a spiritual and biblical perspective. You have to truly recognize that you are in a battle that you cannot win alone. Exodus 14:4 says, "The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." 2 Kings 17:39 references this line of thought in the following way, "But the Lord your God... shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies." Obesity is your enemy.
It is my prayer that this book will serve as a springboard and inspiration for you to seek the Lord first in a time of need. You have tried everything else like I did so many years ago. Why not try God? I challenge you to give Him a try. You will not be disappointed. Understand that He must be first place, not in some things, but in all aspects of your life. This includes the big things to the seemingly small, insignificant ones as well.
