About the Book

The author was born by parents with divergent backgrounds the father from poor protestant and Irish Catholic parents and the mother with a genteel Southern Plantation heritage. He enters life in the Roaring 20's when the times were good and grows up in the depression of the 1930's recounting life in a big city - the good, the bad, the humorous and the sad that many families endeared. However, his independent and devilish nature will show that the Huckleberry Finn and Dennis the Menace types are alive and well and don't just exist in fiction form.

About the Author

After joining the Army the author was assigned to an anti craft battalion that was sent to England. It was in the invasion of Normandy, the liberation of Paris and the "Battle of the Bulge". At war's end his unit was sent to Berchtesgaden, Hitler's compound where it was host, giving tours of the "Eagle‰*ªs Nest" to the military and various dignitaries.

Upon discharge, he attended Temple University and majored in business rather than law. He spent the major part of his business career with a large pharmaceutical company.

Now a widower, he still lives in eastern Pennsylvania where his children were raised and enjoys model railroading and traveling in his motorhome.
