D'licious, The Best of Baking, A book filled with great recipes form the very easy to the more experimental.

There are recipes covering the basics using eggs, flour, yeast, whisking it all up into anything your tastebuds fancy. You can find a variety of savory dishes and then in the sweeter half of the book it covers everything from cakes with various icing, including biscuits, sweet tarts and desserts.

Some of the recipes include some tips for catering. All the recipes are successful. If you have never baked successfully then read through the "working with" section of the book for some useful tips. You are sure to find what you are looking for.

The recipes are all formulated and created in a regular family kitchen with basic equipment. Most houses should be equipped with everything needed to create which ever dish chosen in this book, even the most basically equipped kichen. The ingredients are all regular ingredients found in most grocery stores in all but possibly the very smallest of villages. When cooking or baking you should just have fun with what you are doing.

Many recipe books these days are created with many great recipes but in my years of baking I have often struggled to find sometimes the simpler and more traditional recipes. Through my years of baking I have had to make up recipes such as the Lemon Meringue Pie and the Apple Crumble as I have struggled to find good, successful recipes of the more traditional way of baking. This book does however include more creative recipes as well.

Have fun baking and enjoy the end result!!! I am quite health conscious and my next book is on a more organic way of eating but a good balanced eating plan should always include the baked goods. Flour has fiber and calcium, eggs have protein and zinc and sugar has energy. All the essential ingredients of life.

About the Author

I am passionate about creating new recipes and flavors that inspire other people. When catering, it gives me great pleasure to create dishes or snacks that tempt people into wanting more. I like to use color and a combination of ingredients to create appeal to the eye as well as the taste buds. I have been baking since a young age and been cooking and catering since my early 20's. it is my dream to one day have an organic farm where I will then create meals using healthy home grown food, but for now we just have to make do with buying in. My first book is essentially anything to do with baking, even though I am for the most part health conscience, I do also believe in some of lifes more simple pleasures. Sometimes it is just nice to sit and kick back with a good piece of cake or a pleasurable sweet tart and tea, and it is never better as home-made. Being South African I am working on an African cook book as well as a healthy recipes book, which will largely be organically based with tips on how to grow some of your own ingredients.
