How Many Miles to Normal is about one person's struggle coping with the death of both parents just weeks apart. This loss occurred during the shocking events of Sept. 11th, 2001. As fear gripped the national psyche Eddie was able to document one facet of the cascade of anxiety that affected all aspects of living in America. While the nation faced its own challenge, Eddie was carrying the unbearable pain of losing the bedrock of his strength on earth - his loving, protective mother.
The only place to turn was toward God, where Eddie was able to begin the long walk. With grace and understanding that only come from Him, Eddie was able to cast away the demons from the past. Eddie was able to discover that which had been elusive - peace and joy.
About the Author
Eddie Jones was born in 1957 in East Saint Louis, Illinois - one of the most economically impoverished places in America. He was one of 9 children raised by a strong protective mother who headed the family as a single parent. After high school, Eddie became a career marine. He received honors as a top recruiter. Eddie now lives in Palm Desert, CA. and has begun a career in the health care industry. He was the middle child of four other brothers and four sisters. Upon graduation from high school he entered the United States Marine Corps, where he stayed until his retirement.
