About the Book
The year was 1969. Our family of four was locked in, tied down and fed up with big city life. We were caught in the typical web of a well-paying, prestigious job, payments on a to-die-for house, its pool payments, and luxuries surpassing our income.
We lived paycheck to paycheck to support it and it was grinding us down.
We yearned for a change but we were trapped in our upper-middle-class, lavish lifestyle. Or were we?
A knock on the door one day changed our lives forever. The chance of a lifetime presented itself and we embraced it with open arms.
Lee quit his well-paying job, the house was offered for sale and in a mere two weeks, we left it all behind.
The reader will go along with us on the monumental move to our new roots in Red Bluff, California. It was a city we'd never heard of, a house we'd yet to see, a place where we knew no one. Absolutely no one.
The new job as ranch hand paid a meager $150.00 per month and Lee, I and our two boys savored each day.
Naturally there were ups and downs, glads and sads. Our many adventures and the array of animals we encountered and loved during 13job-related moves in a 10-year span of ranch living makes our book with photo's a must read, short and to the point humorous story for most age groups.
It may give the reader who's stuck in an unfulfilling lifestyle some hope to find satisfaction elsewhere.
