About the Book
Blue Collar Devotions is a collection of devotional articles written in the course of “pioneering” a new church in a coastal community of the northwest, revealing the focus and interests of the author over a period of about eight years. The phrase "Blue Collar" is descriptive of those who labor in trades, usually physical, often manual in less than clean environments, and far removed from the “White Collar” arena. Working in the auto body repair trade for over 40 years qualifies the author to speak from this point of view with some confidence, and the various articles are written from such a perspective. This book differs from most devotionals in that it is quite simple in format and loosely organized. The only divisions are to place articles about Christmas and Easter in separate sections with the balance of the selections on a variety of subjects.
About the Author
David Love is an ordained Foursquare pastor with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry. Since becoming a Christian in 1967 and responding to God’s call to seminary and ministry, he has continued to work at his trade in auto body repair to provide financially for family and church needs. As a “bi-vocational” pastor, a unique perspective emerges as pastoring blends daily demands of the job with the spiritual well-being of a fledgling congregation. He and his wife, Martha, reside in Anacortes, Washington.
