About the Book
The epic saga of an outrageous species and their quest for evolutionary predatorial perfection. Their chase, the speed of light. Their quarry, the prey enemy. Prey, they that would abuse their own life-giving planets. Enemy, those that would make mockery of true democracy.
A predator race ten thousand anums old. With a web of influence spanning ten thousand light anums, ten thousand worlds in tribute. A web now racing up the spiral arm some call Milky Way. A people without need of a mere name, yet, if amiable and you were still alive long enough to ask, they might jest, 'the free radicals'!
Beings that had incorporated selective gene manipulation, those that gave them, advantage. Not for an advantage over laughable prey, but to keep predatory evolution apace the leading edge of HER thought this holi NOW. Time is their goddess, and this magic moment of now, HER personification. They, holi warriors, and this, a story of their holi crusade.
The above is a gist for my prosy pair; two books that juxtapose absolute morality and utter depravity; cyclic versus linear thinking, where the twain does meet. Sci-fi dedicated to the high drama of the highest of seas; deep space, deeper imagination. Life must ever be challenge; evolution ordains it! Aye, the tale need entertain; yet I strive for more. To prove to each and every reader that not only their soul, but also their very existence is, immortal. Dare to delve these depths, you may find eternal damnation more ironic than any hell Man has imagined. Or, everlasting light to guide your infinite path. "Ah," you think, "the proof is in the pudding, where's the bloody pudding?" Eat or be eaten; what could be more fare than that, save humor's sense!

About the Author
Was there; early sixties. Rte. 128's "golden mile" bounding The Hub; Boston, Mass. As an electromechanical consultant, working and witnessing the birth pings of high tech. Where; computers took up whole rooms, target lasers, entire buildings. I dug being a "job-shopper" ( now known as "temps" ) with its air of independence. Contracts generally ran 3 to 6 months, client employers treated you as guest, the client's full time employees need not fear you were after their jobs.
For twenty years I shopped scores of R&D labs, tasting, testing the arcane. Even then, though electronics was more promise than punch, I knew I was working on the cutting edge. A sword of Damocles!? So, my shift to home construction, putting down Hi-tech, the picking up of Lo-( and behold ). No, I am not a Luddite, but Hi-tech is a powerful tool that can be misdirected, as in global warming. However, technology directed toward positive, sustainable lifestyles provides unlimited economic growth and lessens our ecological impact. Holism's ( the balance of Hi and Lo ) time has come, smart investor's can only be enriched with such a true partnership.
Blame it on oriental philosophy! During my mid-twenties; picked up one of the genre books and, "ahh so". Always good with my hands, building a boat at age fourteen, so craftsmanship and living logic were predisposed to holistic thought. Had to love it! Had to be an entrepreneur.
Enter 1970 & "The Left Hand", a mail order catalog of left-handed goods ( and coping hints ). Two brothers-in law, my brother and self, in the kitchen, cookin' up a book. Researching, developing product, writing copy, even making our own offset color plates for a Comic Section ad. A 12% return on a catalog is still unheard of, we had hit a market gap dead on! Proving our premise; that at least 10% of the population is strongly left-handed. Full page coverage by UPI and APS, even a column in Newsweek; convinced a speculator to buy out. Besides getting my feet wet, I learned an important ploy; if the message is timely and the facts, fun, then the publicity be free!
Then, the 80's & 90's; time split tween living on undeveloped land in cabins of my own making with alternative energies for power and live-aboard marinas where I designed and built many a sailboat. Usually, some form of construction sustained me, occasionally, a job-shop gig to stay in touch with the Info Age. These were the times I designed Lifestyle Devices Co ( LDC ).
LDC's SmartShelters addresses the largest market gap in history; sustainable shelters for the mass of humanity. A mere $2 trillion market, 'sum' gaping gap! And now, "holi war", copyright 2007. I've always identified with Adventures, sci-fi in the main, so, though emperator is a stretch of imagination, I feel it's within my reach. And reaching even further; Book Two: emperator emigrates Earth. Here, our hero tries to save Earth from its own follies, not for altruistic reasons, but to guarantee that there will be prey around for his following of predators and their nasty aversion to extinction ( leastwise, their own )!
You guessed it; he does it by starting up a company, a company that happens to sell; smart shelters!
"Ahh so," quality and quantity, the analog and the digital. One, a path of immortal glory, the other?, well, that's another story! Speaking of which; here's a very short story of mine that was published in 'Magical Blend' magazine. The poetry may be esoteric, the prose; arcane, still, what could be simpler than 'dumbing down' for mass consumption, and make a short story, a longing?
